Transformers: Age of Extinction Dominates the Box Office

Michael Bay’s “soft re-boot” of the Transformers Saga exploded into theaters this last weekend, pulling up some record breaking numbers. Domestically, Transformers brought in $100 million, which also makes it the biggest opening for 2014. Overseas,¬†Transformers reached an even larger audience and broke the $200 million mark. Chinese theaters sold over $90 million, setting a new record for the biggest open for a foreign-made film.

Critic’s response to the film seem to have varied, but these impressive numbers show that fans can’t seem to get enough of the robots in disguise. The franchise is as strong as ever and wont be going away anytime soon. Anyone catch this flick? What did you think?

As always, elope has got your Halloween covered with some sweet Transformers headwear, coming soon!
